You Said

In a fading room where shadows creep,

Whispers of promises lost in the deep.

Once vibrant vows like stars in the night,

Now flicker and dim, evading the light.

You swore you'd remember, you swore you'd be near,

A bond wrought in laughter now laced with sheer fear.

Each moment we cherished, each secret we shared,

Fades into silence, a heart unprepared.

The echoes of laughter now hauntingly drift,

A memory's ghost, the cruelest of gifts.

The warmth of our days now shrouded in gray,

As time steals your presence, it quietly slays.

I reach for your hand, but it slips through my grasp,

Your voice like a whisper, a dream I can't clasp.

And though you declared I'd forever remain,

Here I am aching, alone with my pain.

Forgotten like leaves that fall with the breeze,

Once vibrant and alive, now mere memories.

In the corners of solitude, I silently plead,

For the love that you promised, the love that I need.
