Why Try

In the silence of twilight, where shadows softly blend,
I find solace in solitude, no need to pretend.
The echoes of laughter have faded away,
And the warmth of connection has turned into gray.
Once, I danced in the flames of a passionate fire,
But the embers grew cold, and I lost my desire.
With each whispered promise that fell to the ground,
I learned that true love can sometimes confound.
So here in my stillness, I've chosen my peace,
In the absence of heartache, I find a release.
The world carries on with its vibrant embrace,
Yet I walk my own path, at my own steady pace.
No more searching for glimmers in eyes once so bright,
I've embraced the quiet, the stillness of night.
For in learning to cherish the moments alone,
I've discovered a strength in this heart of my own.
There’s beauty in solitude, a comfort, a balm,
In the whispers of night, I’ve found my own calm.
Though love may be fleeting, a chapter now closed,
In the story of me, I have learned to compose.
