Why Be So Bitter?
How can someone carry so much anger,
and let it harden their heart?
Why turn kindness into weakness,
and tear good people apart?
Why hold onto every grievance,
like a trophy made of pain?
Why punish those who never hurt you
for wounds you cannot explain?
What makes someone choose bitterness
when they could choose to heal?
Why build walls around their heart
instead of letting themselves feel?
You can be hurt without becoming cruel.
You can be angry without destroying.
You can walk away without causing pain,
and still leave someone knowing
they mattered.
Because hurting others
doesn’t erase your own hurt.
Making someone cry
doesn’t make your tears disappear.
And breaking someone else’s heart
doesn’t repair the pieces
inside your own.
Some people become so consumed
by what they think they lost
that they forget the people standing there
never deserved to pay the cost.
So why be bitter?
Why be cold?
Why make hatred your home?
Life is already hard enough
without making enemies of the people
who once cared about you.
One day, the anger fades.
The arguments become memories.
The grudges lose their power.
And all that’s left is the question:
Was being bitter really worth
all the love you pushed away?
