What Lies Ahead

In the quiet breaks of dawning light,

I shed the cloak of yesterdays,

That heavy weight of fear and fright,

Now dust upon my feet’s pathways.

With each step forward, I seize the day,

The ground feels new beneath my stride.

Scars of the past may gently sway,

But they don’t hold me; they’re my guide.

As whispers of doubt begin to fade,

Strength finds a home within my heart.

Brave seeds of change in silence laid,

Bloom in the gardens of brand new starts.

Fences once high that boxed me in,

Now crumble with each passing breeze.

The walls of comfort, worn and thin,

Give way to the wild, open seas.

I gather the pieces, colored and bright,

Embrace the mosaic of who I am.

Reflections of struggle shine in the light,

Where once there were shadows, I now understand.

Every heartbeat echoes with dreams untold,

Inviting my spirit to dance and roam.

A tapestry woven in threads of bold,

The journey ahead, my heart’s destined home.

With each sunrise, I find the key,

Unlocking the doors to paths unexplored.

The world is vast, and I am free;

A voyager on life’s uncharted board.
