The Unseen Narcissist

In shadows deep where echoes dwell,
A man once kind, now wrapped in spell.
Each adoring glance, a fractured trust,
His heart turned cold, turned to dust.
As mirrors call, he dares not glance,
For vanity’s grip holds tight—a trance.
Each word a siren, sweetly sung,
Deaf to the cries of the heart once young.
A world enrobed in false delight,
Where laughter masks the desolate night.
He dances proud, in a gilded cage,
Unseen the pain, obscured by rage.
Once a friend, now a silhouette,
Connections severed, a life unmet.
The praise he craves comes at a cost,
In loving hearts, he feels so lost.
Yet beneath the guise, a flicker lies,
A man in exile with unshed cries.
To feel, to love, to break this mold,
A story waiting, still untold.
Nicely written. Great choice of words
