The Serenity of Release

In the quiet of the evening glow,
A whisper brushes past my soul,
Echoes of a past, soft and low,
Where shadows linger, yet I feel whole.
Each moment held, a precious thread,
Weaving stories, dreams once bright,
Yet in their grasp, my spirit bled,
Yearning now for freedom's light.
I remember the storms, the struggles of yore,
The battles fought in silence, pain concealed,
But now I stand before that open door,
With courage swelling, my heart revealed.
No longer shall I bow in fear,
To fragments of what used to be,
The melody of peace rings clear,
Inviting me to finally breathe free.
I close my eyes, take a deep breath,
With every exhale, I shed the weight,
Releasing the chains, embracing the death,
Of sorrow's grip, I choose my fate.
Herein lies the beauty of letting go,
A dance of petals in the springtime air,
The freedom to wander, to ebb and flow,
To trust the journey, to dream without care.
For in the act of release, I find my song,
An anthem of hope, a promise to embrace,
The moments fleeting, yet oh-so-long,
That lead me to the spirit of grace.
Each dawn, a canvas, fresh and new,
A palette of colors, bright and alive,
With joy as the palette, I’ll paint my view,
Finding strength in the choice to thrive.
So here I stand, my heart wide open,
With every heartbeat, I’m free, I’m whole,
The chains of my past, now soft and broken,
In the serenity of release, I find my soul.
