Navigating the Blame

In the quiet corners of their hearts,
Linger shadows I cannot see,
Whispers of sorrow, where it starts,
They say it’s my fault; it’s not me.
With every smile I give, I fear,
That hidden storms rage beneath,
Yet in their tears, I’m not the spear,
Not the root of any grief.
Their silence speaks, heavy, profound,
But I am not the thunder's might,
I cannot bear their weight unbound,
I am the candle, not the night.
In mirrors, I’ve searched for blame,
Reflections warped with no escape,
But sadness wears another name,
And love, not blame, is my new shape.
So let their hearts, wild and free,
Find their paths without my weight,
In their journey, I’ll stay me,
Not the cause of their fate.
