Missing You During Holidays

In the glow of twinkling lights, I pause and sigh,
For every carol sung brings a tear to my eye.
The laughter and joy that once filled the air,
Is now a whisper of memories, tender and rare.
Nick, my brother, my friend, how I long for your face,
Amongst all this cheer, there's an empty space.
We'd share in the magic, the warmth of the fire,
Now silence surrounds me, a deepening choir.
The ornaments sparkle, but none catch the light,
Like the bright spark you brought to each holiday night.
With every sweet memory, I’m stitched with the pain,
Yet love knows no limits; our bond will remain.
I’ll raise up a glass, let the stories unfold,
Of adventures we shared, of laughter so bold.
Though you're not here, in my heart you reside,
Forever my brother, my friend, my guide.
So I’ll carry your spirit through each joyful song,
In the warmth of the season, you’ve never gone wrong.
For though the world changes, and time carries on,
In the depth of my longing, you’ll always belong.
