Lost in Seconds

Where once I stood, so full of hope,
Days turned to months, yet I could not cope.
With every heartbeat, I gave my all,
Blind to the way that love made me small.
In laughter we danced, through shadows we swept,
But every sweet promise, a secret we kept.
Through whispered dreams in the soft candlelight,
I felt the clock ticking, slipping from sight.
Time wasted on dreams of a heart intertwined,
Hope wrapped in echoes, so tender and blind.
Moments woven, a tapestry frayed,
With threads of affection slowly decayed.
Thoughts of the future, painted with bliss,
Yet reality whispered, “This won’t be missed.”
For love is a river, it ebbs and it flows,
But in this stillness, my spirit arose.
Countless hours spent with a heart out of tune,
Disguised by the light of a faded afternoon.
I chased reflections, mere ghosts in the air,
Forgetting the essence of love’s fragile flare.
Time dripped like honey, heavy and slow,
Each moment a burden, an anchor below.
Wasted on smiles that never felt true,
I wore my heart’s armor, but it slipped right through.
With every sunset, intentions revealed,
The essence of time could not be concealed.
An illusion of love in a theater dimmed,
While the clock’s steady hand sighed softly, and whimmed.
Eclipsed by the unknown, my vision unclear,
Each tick a reminder of what I held dear.
A dance of delusion, a fleeting embrace,
Lost in the seconds, I stumbled through space.
Now I stand here, with eyes open wide,
Reflecting on time, the tears that I cried.
For wasted affection can’t be reclaimed,
But wisdom from sorrow, I cannot be tamed.
Each moment with you, a shard of the past,
A lesson learned hard, to let go at last.
For life is a journey, each path intertwined,
I release what was lost, seek love reassigned.
In the quiet of night, with stars up above,
I honor the memories, the lessons of love.
No longer a victim to time left behind,
I cherish the now, in the moments I find.
For time wasted on hearts that refuse to ignite,
Is time still well spent when it sheds new light.
Embrace the unknown, let the past gently fade,
For the heart that was broken, through healing is made.
