Lost Connections

In a world full of chatter,
Where laughter dances in the air,
The weight of silence from friends turned shadows
Is a burden hard to bear.
When joy is wrapped in bonds of camaraderie,
And secrets sparkle like stars at night,
A flicker, a pause, and they vanish like mist,
Leaving behind a painful plight.
The heart sinks with questions left unanswered,
Thoughts lost in a sea of doubt,
"What did I miss? What could I have changed?"
As echoes of friendship fade out.
We invest in the tapestry of trust,
We weave threads of laughter and dreams,
But the delicate nature of these connections
Is a riddle that is hard to deem.
One day we share hopes, the next they fade,
It’s more than loss; it feels like betrayal—
An ache that lingers and won’t wash away,
Like a heart broken beyond repair.
It’s in late-night calls and morning texts,
In smiles brightening the darkest days,
When they drift away like leaves turned to dust,
We grasp at memories that slowly decay.
Why do friendships crumble and fall?
What cowardice lies behind closed doors?
Is it easier to ghost than face the truth,
Leaving behind aching scores?
In a world of swipes and fleeting moments,
Our cherished ties are easily severed,
But the scars left behind tell silent tales
Of bonds we thought would last forever.
Maybe they felt pressure, fear, or confusion,
Maybe they're lost in their own storms,
But how can we heal without a goodbye?
How do we move when warmth deforms?
Yet from pain rises strength, a lesson learned,
To embrace the wisdom the loss imparted.
In the ashes of friendships that once shone bright,
We find resilience, a growing heart unguarded.
There is beauty in learning to stand alone,
In nurturing love within ourselves.
Each lost connection can reveal a truth,
To value our hearts beyond the shelves.
So, to those who walked away without a word,
Your absence has sparked a change in me,
In the depths of my heart, seeds of growth are sown,
A blossoming spirit, finally free.
Navigating this changed landscape of friendship,
I now carry an empowered soul,
That seeks authenticity in every tie,
In each encounter, my heart takes a roll.
I know some will become mere memories,
Like leaves drifting in a gentle breeze.
Quality over quantity is now my mantra,
As I embrace life’s endless seas.
I'll treasure the warmth of those who choose to stay,
Building bonds that weather the storms,
For in this journey of connection and loss,
I find strength in relationships that transform.
Friendships may come and go like the tides,
And we learn to love and let go without fear.
The fatigue of unanswered questions will fade
As new connections become crystal clear.
So here’s to those who slipped through our fingers,
May they find what they need in their quest for light.
And here's to friendships that thrive and flourish,
In honesty, laughter, and joy held tight.
Remember, every ending births a new beginning,
A chance to explore what’s waiting in store.
Let’s cherish the ties that embrace us deeply,
And look forward to friendships that open new doors.
