Finding Peace

Hello darkness,

Yes my old friend.

I see you’ve come to say hello,

Yet again.

I scream,

I shout.

Fuck! I want out!

I step outside,

Breathe in the night air.

As the wind blows through my hair,

I sit down in my lawn chair.

And I just sit there,

Looking at the stars.

Hello darkness,

You haven’t left yet.

I cry out,

Please! Just let me be!

All I want is peace within.

When will that be?

When will I find that,

Is the real question.

Finding peace that is.

Hello darkness,

It was nice knowing you.

But I’m done with you,

I’m finding peace.

This poem is about finding peace within yourself, whether it’s a depression battle or whatever you may be going through. Don’t let the darkness consume you! Always find a way to have that peace in your life. Because if you don’t find it, you’ll be in the dark forever…and what kind of life would that be if you can’t find your inner peace…. Just sayin..
