Exploring Self-Obsession

In the flicker of twilight, I gaze in the glass,

A reflection that glimmers, for none can surpass.

With every smirk traced, perfection my quest,

I wear self-love’s armor, unyielding, no rest.

Beneath the surface, a tempest brews wild,

Yet weakness I hide, like a sorrowful child.

In shadows of glory my demons reside,

But I dance 'round the flame, fueled by pride.

With whispers of envy, I crown my disdain,

As I scale velvet mountains, I bask in the rain.

For every soul wagered, who dares to relate,

I mutter sweet nothings, disguised as fate.

In the alleys of ego, where shadows ignite,

I fashion a kingdom, shunning the light.

Cloaked in my grandeur, I traverse through the haze,

Not knowing the path leads to bereft days.

Oh, give me the stage, the applause for my tale,

For the spotlight's warm glow is my armor, my veil.

The audience dazzles, but they shadow my stage,

As I pen my own story, lost in the page.

Yet, beneath the bravado, a whisper rings clear,

A truth I must face, but it's cloaked in my fear.

For lost in the chaos, I'm longing to see,

The realness of love beyond the mirror's decree.
