Departures

In the silence of an autumn day,

You walked away without farewell.

A ghost drifted through the amber leaves,

Like whispered secrets, hard to tell.

Every step you took felt heavy,

Like burdens shared between us two.

But life called you to wander,

While I stood still, lost in the blue.

The skies turned gray, a canvas bare,

Painting shadows of what we used to share.

With every person that parts, we gather stories,

A library of echoes, hopes, and worries.

A memory slips through fingers like grains of sand,

But the heart remembers softly, with a gentle hand.

Fishers of memories cast their lines,

Catching dreams wrapped in golden vines.

When one season fades to welcome another,

Embrace the change, let go of the tether.

Life paints a canvas where colors blend,

With every goodbye, a chance to mend.

The shapes they leave might seem so stark,

But within that void lies a potential spark.
