Claiming My Power

You reached for my heart, fingers stretching wide,
A soft kiss on the whispering winds, the evening tide.
With silvered threads of longing and lustful greed,
You wove your desires, planting a compelling seed.
But little did you know, hidden deep in the mire,
The heart that you thought was a casual fire,
Held embers of strength tucked away, unseen,
A warrior of spirit, fierce and serene.
In quiet moments of casting shadows so long,
I learned to dance to the melody of my song.
The more you took, the more I became,
Draped in my power, lighting my flame.
