A Peaceful World

I wish the world was softer than it seems,

Less sharp with anger,

quieter in pain,

Where hope didn’t feel like shattered dreams

And kindness wasn’t treated as in vain.

I wish for days that breathe in gentle light,

Where voices listen more than they accuse,

Where hands reach out instead of clenching

tight,

And love is something everyone can choose.

A world where peace is more than just a word,

Not written only when the candles glow,

But lived in every action done or heard,

In how we care for people we don’t know.

I wish the earth could rest from all the war,

From heavy hearts,

from grief that never sleeps,

Where children learn what laughter’s for once more,

And promises are things the world still keeps.

Maybe it starts with one small,

human act

A smile,

a pause,

a moment to forgive.

If we could choose compassion as our pact,

Perhaps this world would finally learn to live.
