A Gentle Fight Within

In the quiet corners of my mind’s own space,
Where shadows dance and sometimes race,
There lies a storm, a restless sea,
A battle fought silently within me.
Thoughts like thunder, loud and fierce,
Clashing tempests with no clear pierce,
A whirlwind of emotion, high and low,
Tearing through my calm, causing ebb and flow.
Yet in this chaos, there’s a strength I find,
A flicker of hope, a resilient kind,
For every surge that pulls me deep,
There’s a promise that I’ll wake from sleep.
I learn to listen to the whispers soft,
To recognize when winds blow aloft,
And reach for anchors, steady and true,
A grounding breath, a moment anew.
Not every thought defines my worth,
Nor every mood dictates my birth,
Each sunrise brings a new refrain,
A chance to heal, to ease the pain.
So I fight with kindness, patience, grace,
Facing the storm, embracing the space,
Between the highs and lows I tread,
Knowing dawn will always follow night’s dread.
For within me burns a quiet fire,
A spirit brave, a soul entire,
And though the thoughts may roar and sway,
Hope whispers softly
I’ll find my way.
