Memory

A memory,
What kind?
It can be any.
Sad,
Even bad.
That memory,
It stays.
Stays with you,
Whether you want it to,
Or not.
It stays.
Some memories fade,
But why?
Because,
We try to forget.
Forget what caused,
Those memories.
The painful,
Even the happy.
Who would want to,
Forget the happy ones?
A lot would.
Remembering,
A happy memory,
Could also be,
Slightly painful.
Painful to remember,
The happiness,
You once had.
That's why,
Why we let those fade.
The happy,
Yet painful,
Memories.
This poem has somewhat of a good meaning to it. when we remember happy memories about say a loved one, or even a friend you'll probably feel happy as you did in that memory and in the present time. but then again, that happy memory can also be a painful memory. for example, remembering my best friend who passed, when i think of him yeah i feel happy about his memory, but then i feel the pain in my heart, i don't want to forget his memory. but i want the pain to stop. basically what i am saying no matter what the memory is, good or bad it will have some form of an effect on you in the present time.
