The Ones Who Smile Through The Silent Pain

There are people among us, gentle and kind,
Who hide their heartache deep behind
A practiced grin, a laugh rehearsed,
While silence holds the weight they’ve nursed.
They walk in light so none can see
The storm beneath their skin’s decree,
Their eyes like mirrors
bright yet worn,
A thousand smiles for each heart torn.
By day they shine, they lift, they joke,
Their warmth a veil, their strength bespoke,
But when the world has turned to sleep,
Their tears are promises they keep.
Behind closed doors, the truth unfolds,
A quiet ache that never molds
It burns, it whispers, softly cries,
Unheard beneath the moonlit skies.
They carry sorrow none can name,
Yet never point, nor cast the blame,
For empathy’s their unseen thread,
They heal the hurt while theirs has bled.
So if you see a smile too bright,
A laugh that echoes through the night,
Remember this
beneath that glow,
A tender heart still fights below.
For some wear joy like fragile art,
To guard what’s left of their shattered heart.
Be kind, be gentle
sometimes the brave,
Are those who smile through what they crave.
